Emerging Designers Steal the Spotlight at London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week has again been a fertile breeding ground for the development of new talent, with the British Fashion Council’s NewGen program being the focus. Introduced in 1993, NewGen has played a key role in launching some of the largest names in British fashion, such as Alexander McQueen, JW Anderson, and Christopher Kane.
Paolo Carzana’s Intimate Collection
This year, the NewGen group included a multicultural set of designers, each having their vision to bring to the catwalk. Among the showstoppers was Welsh designer Paolo Carzana, who presented his collection in a English traditional pub, generating a cosy and retro atmosphere.
On the catwalk at Di Petsa’s Show
Di Petsa’s catwalk presentation included special appearances by Ayra Starr and Mia Khalifa, lending a dash of celebrity glamour to proceedings.
Lueder’s Raving Adventure
Lueder led the fashion crowd on a raving adventure, as Kazna Asker introduced a colourful souk to the official BFC show area, in the aid of local traders from Sheffield.

Alumnus of Central Saint Martins Charlie Constantinou continued his search for creative growth, experimenting with texture creation in collaboration with Ecco Leather.
Pauline Dujancourt’s Tribute to Her Grandmother
French-born London-based designer Pauline Dujancourt honoured her grandmother with a Vriesea plant-inspired collection featuring detailed textile processes such as crochet and handknitting.
Sinéad O’Dwyer’s Reflective Final Show
Sinéad O’Dwyer showcased her last show as a beneficiary of the BFC’s NewGen scheme, exploring the evolution of the brand and dress codes.
Yaku’s Creative Presentation
The most creative presentation was that of Yaku, who took guests on an immersive journey in a fantasy world with his ‘The Impossible Family Reunion in RPG Space’ series, expressing themes of hope and belonging through Afro-Futurism.
